After receiving notice of my draw for Wyoming elk, I made a stop at Archery Addiction, where Mark made up a dozen Easton Axis Full Metal Jacket arrows. Shooting every week at home and stopping at the archery shop to shoot the 3-D targets from 20-50 yards made my confidence high. I came across an area with lots of fresh wallows on a shady ridge. I set up a homemade ground blind at 5 p.m., and by 6 there were bugles coming from two directions. Soon, a bull appeared to my right and I froze as he walked past at 30 yards. I drew back, got a good sight picture and released. He traveled less than 100 yards. A very good 6×6 bull with the bow. It was a long, tired night getting him out, but what a thrill! – Gordy Doyle, Madison, S.D.
