It was opening day, Oct. 4, 2008, and the winds were light and the temperature was a warm 70 degrees. I settled into my stand at about 4:30 p.m., and a hour later I spotted some small bucks that ended up passing by my stand.
At 6 p.m., three more small bucks and a big 8-pointer followed. When the big buck passed at 20 yards, I let my arrow fly and hit the buck perfectly. Season over! Kimber Moore, Tylersport, Pa.
