I just harvested my first deer ever, this 8 point buck, in my hometown Naples, FL on New Year’s Eve. My husband got me a PSE Chaos compound bow for my birthday in September, which is the first time I ever shot a bow.

I was hooked from the start, practicing as much as I could. We finally got out in the woods after Thanksgiving and this was the 4th time we hunted/saw this particular buck.

Each time we saw him was such an adrenaline rush! He came in with 2 other smaller bucks and a doe around 8:30 that morning. I took my first shot at a living target at 19 yards and made an almost perfect shot! I was literally shaking in my boots with excitement! When we finally found him at 2:30 in the afternoon, we were exhuasted and ecstatic!!!

He had run over 200 yards from where I shot him! The six hours of tracking was definitely worth it and made an awesome ending to the season! I can’t wait to get back out there!
