He Was a She! 30-Point Illinois ‘Buck’ Was a Doe

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an antlered doe, but I’d sure like to. They always seem to have these freak racks. This report from the Associated Press.
West Salem, Ill. — A true “freak of nature” was taken west of West Salem, Illinios, during the second shotgun season over the weekend.

Richard Lomas, a farmhand for George Knackmuhs, shot this 30-point doe on the late Richard Knackmuhs Farm.

The deer, which features a non-typical rack, a drop antler still in velvet and no evidence of male genitalia, also does not appear to have ever given birth. Locals estimate the deer to be about 4-5 years old.

Does a doe qualify for boone and crocket?

As far as I know, it does. I am not sure if they have a special category for antlered does or not. Interesting question. I will see if I can find an answer.
