New Archery Products' Apache Rest

Have you ever fought a rest for the perfect horizontal and vertical adjustment, possibly sliding them too far past your desired mark or sometimes fighting just to get it to move?

After putting New Archery Products' Apache rest through the test in four different states, including two elk hunts in Oregon and Colorado, I can honestly tell you the Apache is a rest designed perfectly for bowhunters. This year, NAP took the full-containment, drop-away design and added micro-adjustment features. The new micro feature allows archers to be more precise with tuning and provides smooth vertical and horizontal adjustments -- all without the use of tools.

Have you ever fought a rest for the perfect horizontal and vertical adjustment, possibly sliding them too far past your desired mark or sometimes fighting just to get it to move? With the new Apache, archers can precisely adjust the windage and elevation settings for pinpoint accuracy and center shot alignment. The Apache Micro is available in right-handed models only, in both black and camo. Tuning is made simple thanks to large toolless adjustment knobs, laser-etched index markings and a self-centering, felt covered V-Launcher that promotes consistent accuracy shot after shot.

Highly durable thanks to an all-metal body and mounting bracket, the Apache Micro provides dependability in all environments and weather conditions. Bowhunters will appreciate its sound-deadened capture feature. Basically, the entire inside circumference of the arrow housing features a sound-dampening pad, which ensures your arrow doesn't make any game-spooking noises if it bounces around and hits the inside of the full-containment guard.

The full-containment design also allows archers to draw their bow without fearing the arrow will bounce off the arrow launcher. I was impressed with how smooth the micro system adjusted. Plus, the laser index markings made it easy to see exactly how much I was moving my vertical and horizontal settings. Add an easy-to-adjust drop-away tether, which uses a simple hex screw to tighten the cord to the rest body, and you have yourself one reliable, durable and easy to tune rest.

$80 (black), $90 (camo)
