LimbSaver DeadZone DZ-32

LimbSaver’s DeadZone DZ-32 has a unique limb pocket system that gives it the look of a radically reflexed bow. The riser, however, is straight, providing the shooter with stability, balance and increased accuracy. As you would expect from LimbSaver the DZ-32 is loaded with vibration and noise dampening accessories.

Sims Vibration Labs successfully pioneered the vibration and shock reducing accessory market for archery in the late ’90s with their now famous “LimbSavers.” LimbSaver is a name that is familiar to almost every archer on the planet. The revolutionary devices affixed to the inside surface of a bow’s limb and provided stunning results. The rest, as they say, is history.

Now, in 2008, LimbSaver has set themselves on a course that could again stir the industry. The buzz? A new bow, their first ever, named the DeadZone DZ-32. This new creation is home to a one-of-a-kind limb capturing system, straight-line riser, beyond parallel limbs and a hybrid eccentric system.

Basics
At first glance the DeadZone appears to be a radically reflexed bow. That, however, is somewhat of a deception because the riser is actually straight. The culprit behind the reflexed look is LimbSaver’s patent pending reflex limb pocket design. This system is comprised of a CNC machined aluminum pocket that extends significantly forward of the riser and captures the limb near its end. The last inch of the limb is home to a fixture on its upper face and inserts into a receptacle machined on the upper, inside tip of the pocket. No limb bolt is necessary. Weight is adjusted with a drive bolt located on the forward side of the riser, underneath the pocket. It passes through a half-round spacer, back through the end of the riser and into a barrel nut that is held by the outside walls of the pocket. When the drive bolt is turned it either draws the barrel nut closer or pushes it away and the pocket naturally follows. The half-round spacer rotates during this process to create what LimbSaver dubs as the rolling-fulcrum. This exclusive limb capture system provides stability through a straight riser, balance through weight distribution, and vibration/kick control through the limb angle. DeadZone limbs measure 12.25 inches in length, feature a double belly design and are machined/diamond ground from Gordon Composite material.

As mentioned previously the DeadZone’s riser is practically straight. LimbSaver designed the riser this way to increase stability and accuracy. To eliminate the pesky noise of an arrow falling off the rest and hitting the riser LimbSaver outfits the DeadZone with a built-in NAVCOM arrow shaft impact strip. Also integrated into the shelf is a flush mounted fall away rest pad that silences the rest arm as it hits the deck.

The engine that drives the DeadZone’s IBO arrow speeds reaching an advertised 325 fps is LimbSaver’s High Energy Active Transfer eccentric system, also called the H.E.A.T. Cam. Sealed and lubricated bearings coupled with precision ground stainless steel axles decrease system friction and increase efficiency. The weight-matched cams are draw specific and available from 26 to 30 inches with a post on the cam that allows for an additional one half-inch adjustment down.

Shock, vibration and noise are the brunt of an all-out attack from the DeadZone’s 12 separate vibration-dampening accessories. Limbs are outfitted with Ultra Quad LimbSavers, the string houses two String Leaches, cables feature four Cable Leaches that help quiet the cables and there are two Cable Guard Dampeners on the DeadZone. The beyond parallel limb position is integral to the silencing system as well.

The DeadZone limbs and riser are finished in Next G1 camo while the limb pockets and eccentric system are anodized. With its smooth draw cycle, notable IBO arrow speeds and super quiet shot, many archery hunters will welcome Sims’ new DeadZone DZ-32.
