I was hunting in eastern Montana the third week of August and we had our blinds set up over several waterholes. The temperature was in the low '60s and it was rainy so the antelope weren't frequenting our ambush locations. We decided to forgo our blinds and try our luck at spot and stalking. It wasn't long and I was crawling up a fence line after two bucks. I closed the distance to 45 yards and got a quartering shot at one of the bucks. I thought my arrow hit too far back, but the buck ran only 100 yards, fell over and died. This was an awesome hunt because I was able to share it with friends and make my first big game bow kill.
