On November 30, 2004, I was sitting in my tree stand on a piece of property in Langley, Virginia. The time was 4:15 and the weather was cool as I sat dreaming of the huge eight pointer I had seen three days before. I was staring at the area where I last saw him when he appeared as if out of my dream and started to follow the same route as before. All I could do was watch him cover the same ground as before, expecting him to disappear over the rise. Then, something spooked him and to my amazement he started to walk directly towards me. I drew back my bow and as he entered my clearing at 25 yards, I touched off the release and saw the 90-grain broadhead make a perfect pass through. He dropped within 50 yards and I had my 185-pound buck of a lifetime.
