I had spotted this buck numerous times but never had a good shot. As the sunset and darkness rolled in I was moments from leaving my stand when he wandered into the adjoining clearing. I had to patiently wait for my shot, which was difficult because this would be my first harvest with a bow and my adrenaline was really pumping. After firing, I tried to follow his movement into the treeline but it was difficult. After waiting about 30 minutes, my dad and I began the search. I was so excited. After several hours we took a break and decided to pick up at dawn. In the morning daylight, our search quickly yielded the result of my shot – a beautiful 10 point buck.
