10 Must-Have Items For Pronghorn Hunting From a Blind

10 Must-Have Items For Pronghorn Hunting From a Blind

Pronghorn hunting from a blind is an effective way to punch a tag. Here are ten items that'll help you seal the deal on your next hunt.

PRIMOS CRUSHER DOUBLE BULL 5X5 GROUND BLIND

The Crusher Double Bull 5x5 ground blind from Primos ($399.99) has an outer shell of non-reflective crushed fabric in Ground Swat camouflage that has been sonic welded to a black interior. The magnesium hub system, which is over-molded with rubber to prevent pinching your hand during set up, means the Crusher opens with just half the force required by previous Double Bull blinds. Use the Frame Pak (included) to transport the 24-pound blind. Also included is shoot-through netting with four shooting ports and a Silent Slide window adjustment system.

WILDLIFE RESEARCH CENTER SUPER CHARGED SCENT KILLER

Super Charged Scent Killer clothing spray from Wildlife Research Center ($7.99/12 oz., $12.99/24 oz.) will eliminate 99 percent of pesky human scent, according to research conducted by Rutgers University. The product is totally odorless and will keep working for days after it is applied.

NIKON EDG FIELDSCOPE

Spotting your trophy is a snap with Nikon's EDG Fieldscope with a 65mm Angled Body ($3,139.95). Pricey, yes, but worth it for Nikon's exclusive ED — extra-low dispersion — glass lenses alone. ED glass provides superior sharpness, color correction and detail. Optics are fully multi-coated, and the fieldscope comes with a do-it-all 16-48x zoom eyepiece. The product is waterproof and fogproof, too.

CARRY LITE 3D EZ-GOAT ANTELOPE DECOY

Carry Lite's 3D EZ-Goat Antelope Decoy ($149.99) will bring your trophies in close. This full-body decoy is lightweight, quiet and constructed from tough, durable polyethylene. The decoy's legs fold, making it easy to set up or break down in a matter of seconds. A carry bag is included.

CARBON EXPRESS MACH 5 ARROWS

Tight pin gaps are the norm when shooting Carbon Express Mach 5 arrows ($119.99/dozen) — the lightest, fastest arrow shaft in the company's lineup. Choose between the model 250 (7 grains per inch, .404 spine and .289-inch diameter) or the model 350 (8.1 gpi, .331 spine and .292-inch diameter). Compact Predator vanes impart even more velocity and accuracy. Other features of this advanced, all-carbon arrow include adjustable nocks and durable, diamond-coat finish.

PSE ARCHERY DREAM SEASON EVO

PSE Archery's Dream Season EVO ($849.99) has a remarkable IBO speed rating of 345 fps, weighs just 4.4 pounds and is packed with features such as the new, Planar Flex Riser that reduces handle deflection and twist and Centerlock Pockets that add control and stability. The bow comes with a 29-inch draw length, but can be adjusted from 25 1/2-30 inches, in half-inch increments. It's available with peak draw weights of 50, 60 or 70 pounds.

MAGNUS BROADHEAD'S GROUND SWAT TACTICAL CLOTHING

Blend in, outside or inside your blind, when wearing Ground Swat Tactical Clothing from Magnus Broadheads. All items — the Ground Swat Tactical Eclipse Reversible Jacket ($59.99), Ground Swat Tactical 6-Pocket Pants ($39.99) and Ground Swat Tactical Hood ($14.99) — reverse from practical Ground Swat camouflage to solid black. Use the camouflage side for roaming about the countryside and switch to solid black when inside the blind. The result? Total concealment in every situation.

WILDGAME INNOVATIONS R400 HALO LASER 6X RANGEFINDER

The R400 HALO Laser 6X rangefinder from Wildgame Innovations ($119.99) is packed with features bowhunters want and need. Use Scan Mode to range multiple targets without reactivating for each acquisition. The internal LCD screen display includes a low-battery icon, active ranging icon and distance in yards or meters. The entire unit weighs just eight ounces. Other features include power-saver function and included CR2 battery, case and lanyard.

S4 GEAR FREESTYLE 720 SEAT

Settle down in comfort on a Freestyle 720 seat from S4 Gear ($139.99). The tripod design, with cantilevered seat and molded foam cushioning, allows an archer to observe the scene from every direction before shooting with proper form while seated. The tough, aluminum seat sets up in less than 20 seconds in compete silence. Oversized feet on independently telescoping legs won't sink in sand or mud, either.

NIKON EDG 7X42 BINOCULARS

Nikon's EDG 7X42 binoculars ( gallery=4,099.95) combine ED glass lenses with dielectric, high-reflective, multi-layer prism coating and full multi-coating. The Field Flattener system will help relieve eye fatigue by minimizing curvature at the edges of the viewing area. The 27.7-ounce binocular is waterproof and fogproof, has a dual-focus knob, locking diopters, detachable eyecups and a lightweight magnesium alloy body that is rubber-armored for protection and stealth.
