Hot New Arrows for 2015

Hot New Arrows for 2015

As another calendar year comes to an end, we look to the horizon of next season with a careful eye for new innovation, ingenuity and advancements in arrow designs.

Top manufacturers hit the drawing board with the goal of serving you arrows that contact the target with more power, deeper penetration, truer flight paths and tighter tolerances. You'll find that some of your favorite brands have fine-tuned their banner products while others set out to introduce enterprising accessories that give the bowhunter exciting new options afield.

Discover which arrows and accessories BOWHUNTING found to be game-changing for the new year.

Easton | Deep Six XD

The new Deep Six XD micro-diameter arrow from Easton uses innovative, easy-to-install stainless steel RPS inserts that are 65 percent stronger than conventional aluminum inserts.

These high-strength carbon-composite arrows are built on a narrow X-diameter for enhanced penetration and downrange aerodynamics via reduced wind drift. Deep Six inserts increase F.O.C. for straighter flight and added forgiveness. They come with Deep Six RPS Inserts, pre-installed X Nocks and straightness tolerances guaranteed to +/- .003-inch.

They are offered in 490, 400, 340 and 295 true deflections weighing 8.1, 9, 9.5 and 10.7 gpi, respectively.

Price: $80 (per 6)

Lumenok | F & H

Good news for fans of skinny arrows who also love lighted nocks — Lumenoks for F- and H-diameter arrows have now gotten better.

Improvements to the Lumenok-F (for Victory VAP or Easton Injexion) include a shank molded of fiber-reinforced nylon and an LED set outside the shaft end for increased strength and brightness.

Lumenok-H (for Easton ST Epic, da' Torch, Bloodline and ACC Pro Hunter) now include the friction battery holder of the Signature Series and a more reliable two-contact system. This makes them both lighter and brighter. Both are offered in green, red and pink.

Here's a serious bowfishing shaft for serious bowfishermen. Fin-Finder's new Hydro-Skin Bowfishing Arrow is a deep-penetrating, 5⁄16-inch diameter fiberglass fishing arrow wrapped in slick Fin-Finder camouflage protecting the shaft from damage and helping it glide through water and tough fish.

They are also offered in Zebra, Orange Zebra and Flames finishes. BloodSport | Pro Series

BloodSport's most popular hunting arrows are now offered in a high-performance Pro Series, including tighter tolerances and more closely matched weight.

The ultra-precise, +/-.001-inch straightness tolerances of the new Pro Series will now be found on proven FPS Hunter, Impact and Crossbow Bolt. The same Rugged Wrap construction remains, but these all-carbon shafts are hand sorted to ensure you're getting the best arrow money can buy. Fly Straight Technology guarantees each arrow in a package flies the same, and Hunt Ready options are also offered wearing lighted Flare Nocks.

All have BloodSport's proprietary Blood Ring, a special white section on the shaft to help you better determine where you have hit an animal.

Carbon Express | Maxima BLU RZ

Carbon Express is pleased to introduce the all-new Maxima BLU RZ hunting arrow. The arrow combines the speed and accuracy of the proven Maxima Blue Streak with the breakthrough broadhead accuracy of the newer Maxima RED.

The result is a lightweight shaft with a flex-isolating Red Zone and stiffer ends that help steer broadheads more reliably for greater hunting accuracy. The overall effect is tighter groups, especially at longer ranges, while also maximizing energy delivery from lighter draw weights.

All include +/-.001-inch straightness tolerances, 1-grain matched weight per six- or 12-arrow set and +/-.0025-inch spine tolerance around a 360-degree axis. They fit LaunchPad Precision Nocks, Blazer vanes and BullDog Nock Collars.

Price: $90 (per 6)

Nockturnal | Lighted Universal Predator

Nockturnal's new Universal Predator Lighted Crossbow Nocks are designed to work with all crossbow bolts. The urethane material creates a universal solution to string-contact requirements and prevents string wear while reducing vibration.

CNC-machined bodies allow only two nock sizes to fit firmly and squarely into any crossbow bolt currently on the market. Piston-driven activation ensures instant activation during launch, without worry of inadvertent activation.

They are weatherproof and reliable, and send light not only backward during flight, but 360 degrees to aid in faster bolt recovery. They weigh 35 grains and can withstand launch speeds of up to 450 fps. The lithium battery powers the nock up to 20 hours.

Price: $40 (per 3)

Clean-Shot Archery | Lighted Crossbow Nock Out

Clean-Shot Archery brings you the new NockOut Crossbow Lighted Nock. This model is designed to absorb the intense energy produced by today's most powerful crossbows. They include three sleeves to provide a universal fit on all crossbow bolt diameters of .385-, .297- and .300-inch.

They can be rotated 45 degrees to be set into practice mode, allowing you to practice with a same-weight nock without wasting battery life. They are easily turned off when in lighted mode by pulling them straight back until they click. One battery lasts up to 24 hours. Each weighs 30 grains, and they are available in red, green and yellow.

Price: $35 (per 3)

Black Eagle | 17 Series Renegade

The 17 Series Renegade from Black Eagle Arrows is a durable, long-range hunting/3-D shaft designed for hunters looking for a micro-diameter option that's tough as nails but won't break the bank.

The Renegade bucks a crosswind for long-range accuracy in the field and delivers a concentrated punch on impact. They feature +/-.006-inch straightness and +/-2-grain weight tolerances and come fletched with Norway R2 vanes. They hold Bohning A Nocks and steel half-out inserts weighing 55 grains.

They're offered in 250 (10.8 gpi), 300 (10 gpi), 350 (8.7 gpi) and 400 (8 gpi) configurations — numbers correlating to real deflection ratings.

Price: $105 (fletched), $95.99 (shafts)

Nockturnal | Helios Nock System

Nockturnal's new Helios Nock System provides a stabilizing spin rate 10 times faster than conventional vanes and is minimally affected by crosswinds of up to 25 mph in wind-tunnel tests.

The new micro-diameter, six-vane Helios fletching and nock system uses aerodynamic lift properties on six small fletchings to deliver extremely quiet flight, superior accuracy and deeper penetration on target. The lighted nock glows through the translucent vane material, accentuating the lighted effect for better arrow tracking at the fastest arrow speeds.

Price: $35 (per 6)

Pine Ridge Archery | Nitro Vane

Whether shooting a crossbow or compound bow, target arrows or hunting shafts, Pine Ridge Archery's Nitro Vanes make an accurate, ultra-durable choice. They include industry-first rounded leading edges to be more aerodynamic for better retained downrange energy and a whisper quiet flight.

The 2-inch vanes also include Micro Glue Pockets in the bases to assure a durable and lasting bond with any arrow shaft. All nine colors provide consistent weight and superior stabilization.

Price: $10 (per 36)

Gold Tip | Kinetic Kaos

he new Kinetic Kaos arrow from Gold Tip is a premium, small-diameter shaft that delivers durability and hard-hitting penetration. Born from Gold Tip's popular Kinetic line, the smaller diameter of the Kaos results in reduced wind drift and increased penetration versus wider shafts of the same length and weight.

The Kaos also features durable, heavy wall construction and precision components, including the new GTO Nock Bushing that provides perfect nock alignment and the new Ballistic Collar that helps align broadheads and increases strength where other small-diameter arrows fail — at the shaft/insert/broadhead connection.

Kinetic Kaos arrows have a straightness tolerance of +/-.0025-inch and are weight sorted to +/-.5 grain per dozen. They comes in 500, 400, 340, 300 and 200 spine sizes in weights ranging from 7.6-11.6 grains per inch.

Victory Archery | RIP

Victory Archery's new RIP arrow is designed to be a deadly combination of speed, penetration, durability and accuracy. RIP shafts are smaller in diameter than standard arrows, which reduces wind drift in flight and enhances target penetration. Penetration is also enhanced by the shaft's forward-of-center weight distribution, which also aids long-range accuracy.

Other highlights of the RIP include Victory's exclusive spine-alignment process for consistent shooting and the ability to add custom AP inserts and new, alloy R nocks for added precision. The RIP is available in Elite (+/-.001-inch straightness) and Gamer (+/-.003-inch straightness) versions.

Easton | FMJ Bowfishing

The new, 32-inch FMJ Bowfishing Arrow from Easton combines 7075 aerospace-grade aluminum alloy with a fiberglass core to create a nail-tough, deep-driving arrow for serious bowfishing pursuits. This construction also adds weight for deeper penetration on tough targets or deeper water, weighing 27.3 gpi.

Finished weight includes an AMS Mayhem double-barb bowfishing point and an AMS Safety Slide system. The Mayhem holds a spiraled Cyclone Tip to cut through water and scales more efficiently, with barbs releasing quickly by rotating the shaft.
