2021 Mathews Bow Lineup: V3 Flagship Model is a Must-See

Two versions of the flagship V3 unveiled, along with the long-draw Atlas, and the Prima.

Mathews Inc. has unveiled its 2021 hunting bow lineup consisting of four models — two versions of its flagship V3 along with the long-draw Atlas and Prima women’s bow. Read on for all the details on each.

V3

Mathews developed four brand-new design features for its 2021 V3, melding them with existing technologies to produce the company’s most advanced hunting bow yet. Available in an ultra-agile, 27-inch axle-to-axle version, as well as an ultra-stable, 31-inch axle-to-axle version, the V3 is built using an all-new Extended Bridge Riser that provides excellent rigidity while maximizing length, resulting in an even longer riser to axle-to-ratio than last year’s award-winning VXR. The result, Mathews says, is a bow platform that is extremely compact yet incredibly stable. Also new on the V3 is the Centerguard Cable-Containment system that places the cables in the true center of the bow, resulting in optimal cam timing to maximize tunability while also increasing vane clearance. All-new limbs featuring past-parallel geometry, paired with a redesigned limb cup, boost system performance and efficiency. Finally, the V3 offers Mathews’ new Nano 740 damper, calibrated to the specific harmonics of the bow for greatly reduced shot noise and vibration. Both V3 models have a 6-inch brace height, are powered by a Crosscentric Cam system with SwitchWeight Technology, offer adjustable letoff of 80 or 85 percent, are compatible with the optional Mathews Silent Connect System bow rope and bow sling accessories and are available in peak draw weights of 60, 65, 70 and 75 pounds. The V3 27 weighs 4.29 pounds. accommodates draw lengths from 25-29.5 inches and has an IBO speed rating of 336 fps (at a 29.5-inch draw). The V3 31 weighs 4.5 pounds, accommodates draw lengths from 26-30.5 inches and has an IBO speed rating of 342 fps. Mathews is also offering two new bow finish options — First Lite Specter and Under Armour All-Season — on top of its six existing camo and solid color choices.

Atlas

If you shop for clothing in the big and tall section, you may be interested in the new Mathew Atlas, a high-performance hunting rig designed with long-draw shooters in mind. Accommodating draw lengths from 29.5-34 inches, the Atlas measures 34.75 inches between the axles, has a generous brace height of 7.75 inches, weighs 4.92 pounds and produces IBO arrow speeds up to 350 fps (at a 34-inch draw length) via Crosscentric Cam technology. Available in peak draw weights of 60, 65, 70 or 75 pounds, the Atlas uses SwitchWeight Technology to adjust peak draw weight in 5-pound increments via the cam modules. Modules are available in either 80 percent or 85 percent letoff for additional customization. Other highlights of the Atlas include the new CenterGuard cable-containment system for optimal cam timing and increased vane clearance, Engage Grip for more consistent hand placement and reduced riser torque and a complete array of 3D Damping accessories to tame shot noise and vibration. Finish options include Black, Stone, Green Ambush, Realtree Edge and more.

Powered by Mathews Crosscentric Cam Technology, the Prima is available with your choice of Rock Mods or Speed Mods and capable of producing IBO arrow speeds up to 321 fps at the maximum 27.5-inch draw length.
