Mathews VXR 28

Mathews is always one of the most eagerly anticipated bow drops of the year, and for 2020 they’ve unleashed the VXR 28, which does not disappoint. At only 28” axle-to-axle, this bow is highly compact and lightweight (4.44lbs). It also features the Crosscentric Cam, which is fitted with Switchweigh Modules. These allow users to adjust draw weight and length by simply swapping out the mods. Prime is well known for their bows, which are easily some of the most accurate rigs to ever hit the market. This alone should make the case for consideration when it comes to the new Black 3, which weighs 4.4lbs, is built with a 6.5” brace height, and produces arrow speeds up to 337fps. At 33” between axles, it’s an ideal sized bow for just about any type of hunting you might want to do, and the Black 3 is anchored by the center-grip design. What this means is that you’ll be more accurate in the field, when odd shot angles and rapidly unfolding encounters have the tendency to erode the ability to execute shots in the same manner as you would on the range in a relaxed setting. You’re going to want to add some accessories to this bow right away, otherwise it might just float off considering it only weighs 3.5lbs. This is made possible by the carbon fiber riser, which also helps quiet this bow down to a whisper during the shot.
