Bear Archery Status EKO

Bear’s new-for-2020 flagship bow is the Status EKO, which measures 33” between axles, offers a 6” brace height, and weighs in at 4.3lbs. EKO Cam technology on this bow allows you the opportunity to customize letoff at 75-, 80-, 85- or 90-percent without sacrificing performance. To ensure your sight is mounted perfectly for second- and third-axis (and you’re more accurate for it), the Status EKO also boasts an Align Lok level, which is located in the riser. Lastly, this bow is capable of generating arrow speeds up to 344fps. MSRP: $1,000 | beararchery.com

BOWTECH Revolt

BOWTECH-Revolt-ATA2020.jpg

The buzz around BOWTECH’s latest, the Revolt, is the Deadlock Cams. With an Allen wrench you can adjust these cams left or right on the axles, making tuning a breeze. What’s better, is that when you hit the sweet spot for arrow flight, you can lock the cams in place ensuring your accuracy doesn’t suddenly disappear halfway through the season. The Revolt is a pleasure to shoot with its 7.25” brace height and mass weight of only 4.4lbs. It also generates 335fps arrow speeds and measures right at 30” axle-to-axle. MSRP: $1,199 | bowtecharchery.com

Elite KURE

Billed as “The KURE For The Common Bow,” Elite’s latest certainly offers up some technology you won’t find in anyone else’s lineup. For example, the Simplified Exact Tuning (SET) Technology, enables micro-adjustments at the limb pockets to the cams, allowing you to achieve perfect arrow flight. The KURE also boasts a smooth, ultra-quiet shot cycle due in no small part to the Vibe X limb dampeners. This bow weighs 4.6lbs, produces arrow speeds in the mid 330s, and measures 31” from axle-to-axle. MSRP: $1,099 | elitearchery.com

Gearhead Archery Disrupter

If custom options are your thing, you should check out the new Disrupter lineup from Gearhead. Choose from a host of different grip styles, which allows for micro-tuning of everything from draw length and brace height, to hand torque as it relates to individual shooting form. Three different models are offered in axle-to-axle measurements of 20, 24 and 30” on these innovative rigs, which look nothing like a typical bow but shoot like a dream. MSRP: $729-$769 | gearheadarchery.com

Hoyt Carbon RX-4 Alpha

The REDWRX lineup keeps growing, and in it (and new for 2020) is the Carbon RX-4 Alpha. Measuring 29.5” between pins and tipping the scales at only 3.9lbs, Hoyt’s latest is a killer bow for anyone looking to hike up mountains in search of elk or bowhunt in tight quarters for whitetails. Due to its ZTR cams, you can expect not only a solid back wall but a smooth draw cycle and arrow speeds up to 342fps. This bow is loaded with bowhunter friendly technology, but a personal favorite is the Adjustable Grip System, which allows you to customize your grip style for perfect arrow flight, and of course, a higher level of accuracy on the range and in the field. MSRP: $1,699 | hoyt.com

Mathews VXR 28

Mathews-VXR-28-ATA2020.jpg

Mathews is always one of the most eagerly anticipated bow drops of the year, and for 2020 they’ve unleashed the VXR 28, which does not disappoint. At only 28” axle-to-axle, this bow is highly compact and lightweight (4.44lbs). It also features the Crosscentric Cam, which is fitted with Switchweigh Modules. These allow users to adjust draw weight and length by simply swapping out the mods. This means if you want to shoot turkeys at 60lbs in the spring and bull elk at 75 come September, that’s a simple proposition. The VXR 28 is capable of sending arrows downrange at 344fps. MSRP: $1,099 | mathewsinc.com

Mission MXR

Mission-MXR-ATA2020.jpg

Let’s say you’ve got a little new-bow-envy going on, but you also don’t have a spare grand or two to blow at the pro shop. Don’t fret, you can get the Mission MXR for, at most, half of what most new bows cost. With it, you’ll be getting a 30” bow that offers a 7” brace height, up to 324fps arrow speeds, and the accuracy of the Crosscentric Cam technology. You can also opt for the Bowhunter Kit, which includes all of the accessories you need to start flinging arrows. MSRP: $499+ | missionarchery.com

Obsession Bows Evolution XS

A lot of the new-for-2020 bows offer up some sort of technology to address tuning issues and make it easier to achieve perfect arrow flight. This is no more evident than on the new Evolution XS from Obsession Bows, which utilizes the new OB Adjustable 4-Track Cam System. This system not only allows for easy tuning, but helps the Evolution XS achieve arrow speeds up to 338fps. This bow measures 31.5,” weighs 4.4lbs, and is built with a shoulder-friendly 90-percent letoff. Choose from a whole host of camo and solid color finishes. MSRP: $1,000 | obsessionbows.com

Prime Black 3

Prime-Black-3-ATA2020.jpg

Prime is well known for their bows, which are easily some of the most accurate rigs to ever hit the market. This alone should make the case for consideration when it comes to the new Black 3, which weighs 4.4lbs, is built with a 6.5” brace height, and produces arrow speeds up to 337fps. At 33” between axles, it’s an ideal sized bow for just about any type of hunting you might want to do, and the Black 3 is anchored by the center-grip design. What this means is that you’ll be more accurate in the field, when odd shot angles and rapidly unfolding encounters have the tendency to erode the ability to execute shots in the same manner as you would on the range in a relaxed setting. Anyone who has been bowhunting for a while knows that is not nothing. MSRP: $1,199 | g5prime.com

PSE Carbon Air Stealth Mach 1

PSE-Carbon-Air-Stealth-Mach-1-ATA2020.jpg

You’re going to want to add some accessories to this bow right away, otherwise it might just float off considering it only weighs 3.5lbs. This is made possible by the carbon fiber riser, which also helps quiet this bow down to a whisper during the shot. The 100-percent American Made Carbon Air Stealth Mach 1 can generate arrow speeds up to 332fps, measures a shade over 32” long, and can be had in peak draw weights of 50 to 70lbs (custom orders of 80lbs are possible at no extra charge). MSRP: $1,600 | pse-archery.com

Xpedition Archery MX-15

Xpedition-Archery-MX15-ATA2020.jpg

If you’re a former fighter pilot or NASCAR driver who thinks a bow that shoots arrows at like 340fps is just too damn slow, consider the new MX-15 from Xpedition Archery. Thanks to a new limb pocket design and the Hybrid Duel Stop (HDS) cams, this bow is capable of putting up hard-to-believe chrono readings like 362fps, for example. In addition to blistering arrow speeds, this bow tips the scales at 4.2lbs, is offered in draw weights from 40 to 70lbs, and measures just under 33” axle-to-axle. Draw length adjustments of 25 to 30” are possible, all without the need of a bow press (modular adjustments in .5” increment). MSRP: $1,099 | xpeditionarchery.com
